Version 8 (April 28th, 2021)

Version 7.2 (July 20th, 2019)

1. No new functionality in this release.
2. Microsoft .Net framework has been rolled back to an earlier version that is installed on more PCs.

Version 7.1 (February 24th, 2019)

1. New section on the SmartEdit toolbar where you can select what to run any checks against — Dialogue and Prose, Prose Only or Dialogue Only.
2. Drop down menu removed from the Run all Checks button, superseded by the new toolbar section and buttons.

Version 7 (January 19th, 2019)

1. Support for Word 2019.
2. Updating of the Microsoft .Net framework used by SmartEdit.
3. Change to the operating system requirements. SmartEdit now requires Windows 10, Windows 8.1 or Windows 7. It will no longer run on Windows 8 PCs that have not been updated to Windows 8.1.

Version 6.7 (October 19th, 2018)

1. Bug fix for SmartEdit Pro users. Small number of Word 2016 users were experiencing startup issues.

Version 6.61 (August 18th, 2018)

1. No extra functionality in this release. Addresses intermittent issues with Windows 10 installs where the SmartEdit tab disappeared.

Version 6.6 (July 2nd, 2018)

1. Improvements to sentences displayed next to results. In some cases more than a single sentence was being displayed (expected behaviour for dialogue, but not for prose).
2. Bug fix: Running dialog only checks on a document that used straight quotes was not returning results.

Version 6.5 (June 27th, 2018)

1. Improvements to SmartEdit display on high DPI monitors for recent versions of Word
   • Word 365 users using the latest versions of Word should install this update
   • Users with high DPI monitors should install this update

Version 6.4 (May 31st, 2018)

1. Paragraph number column added to word and phrase repetition results.
   • Optional setting, switched off by default. It can be switched on in the Settings dialog.
   • Indicates the proximity of repetitions to each other.
2. Bug fix: dialogue was not recognised on documents that used straight quotes.
3. Smaller bug fixes and cosmetic changes.

Version 6.3 (May 21st, 2018)

1. Launch of SmartEdit Pro, an expanded version of SmartEdit for Word for Professional Editors, containing:
   • Report generation to Word, PDF, RTF and Open Office
   • Condensed and expanded reports
   • Branded reports — Add your own logo and name
   • Projects that allow different Monitored Words and Exclusion Lists to be used for different documents
